Pastor Vinton Williams recently retired from pastoring for 54 years in Virginia and moved to Monroe. He was my soulwinning partner today as he covered one side of the street while I covered the other. At 82 years of age, he is still a faithful witness and led 3 men to Christ this morning.
I’m looking forward to taking part in another outreach today through our Spanish-speaking ministry at 2pm. 9 precious souls have professed faith in Christ through this evangelistic effort the past 2 days.
To God be the glory!
We are thankful for the clear Bible teaching and preaching we received today in our elementary, middle school and high school chapels. Several of our students professed faith in Jesus Christ!
We will #NeverForget. Join us today as we pray for our nation and honor the memory of the 9/11 victims and families. We’re thankful for the bravery of first responders who risked and gave their lives that day. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) 🙏 🇺🇸
I enjoyed speaking tonight for the Family Fun Night at South Charlotte Baptist Academy in Pineville NC! Pastor Joseph Campbell and family have served the Lord there faithfully and been dear friends for many years. #nccsa#aacs
Think of all that God has for us simply for the asking. May we discover His possibilities for this school year!
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!
And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10
“…ye have not, because ye ask not.” James 4:2
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” Matthew 7:7
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3
We had a great turn out for our Orientation meetings last Thursday evening and Friday morning. We look forward to seeing everyone at 8am tomorrow morning! #nccsa#aacs
Our teachers have been greatly helped by the instruction on goal setting for the new year by John Reynolds during our inservice training this week! #NCCSA#AACS
Let’s take to heart these truths from God’s Word:
What We Do Comes Out of Who We Are
1. Character is consistent
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” Luke 16:10
2. Character attracts like character
“If a ruler hearken to lies, All his servants are wicked.” Proverbs 29:12
3. Character determines destiny
“The integrity of the upright shall guide them: But the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.”
Proverbs 11:3
⁃ Sow a thought, reap an action
⁃ Sow an action, reap a habit
⁃ Sow a habit, reap a character
⁃ Sow a character, reap a destiny
May the character of Christ be formed in us.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to speak yesterday at the Beacon Baptist Church and Raleigh Christian School Staff Luncheon. Pastor @timrabon is a faithful servant of the Lord and friend.
Today’s Bible Reading Thought:
“God is not a man, that he should lie; (we are and do)
Neither the son of man, that he should repent: (we are and must)
Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (we don’t and should)
Numbers 23:19
Dr. Lee Roberson was greatly used of God. He pastored Highland Park Baptist Church and started Tennessee Temple University. He declared, “If God is your partner, make your plans big!”
I am at the season of life in which there is so much to look back on and reminisce. So many memories of people, places, opportunities, challenges and blessings fill the landscape of my mind. It is certainly a treat to just travel back through my hometown and remember.
Dr. Roberson invited me to spend some time with him in Chattanooga in July of 1995. As we talked one day, I wanted him to tell me what it was like to pastor such a blessed and fruitful church - 10,000 in Sunday School. He spoke briefly of how good God had been to him and the people. He said that he and Mrs. Roberson would ride over the church and college campus on Saturday evenings and marvel at the blessings of God.
Before I could press him further, he looked at me and said, “It’s wonderful to talk about all that God has done here. But, I’d rather talk to you about what God has put in your heart to do at Shining Light.” I was challenged and amazed to be in the presence of such a greatly used visionary seasoned servant of the Lord who was still pressing forward by faith.
Many of us have a good bit of wear on the tires of our lives, yet there is much to do for our Saviour. Joshua 13:1 states, “Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.”
We may have fewer days than we’ve had to go after what God has put in our hearts to do. May our gracious Lord quicken and strengthen our hearts as we look less on what has been so we can look by faith to what can be yet.
This is not a day for small thinking! The need is great. Our God is greater, and is still looking for those with a true heart for Him so He can show Himself strong on their behalf. Let’s pray, study, plan, set goals, connect with people and make sure everything is ready to go each Lord’s Day as we put our whole heart in the service of our soon coming Saviour!
