There is an important point that needs to be clarified about this post.

The post claims that Weibo’s comment-ranking system is being used by INFOLD to suppress pro-Valko comments.

However, Weibo’s official information does not establish that conclusion.

What Weibo officially confirms is that comments are not simply ranked by the number of likes.

Comments are ranked according to their “heat,” which is calculated using multiple factors, including:

likes
replies
comment content
account quality
the relationship between the commenter and the blogger

Weibo also states that different users may see comments in different orders.

This means that a comment with fewer likes can legitimately appear above a comment with more likes. That, by itself, is not evidence that INFOLD is suppressing the comment.

There is also an important correction to the original post:

We have not found official Weibo documentation saying that a blogger liking a comment automatically forces that comment to the very top.

So we should be careful not to turn an explanation of Weibo’s algorithm into a claim of intentional censorship.

What can we actually conclude?

Weibo’s ranking system can make some comments much more visible than others, and the ranking can differ between users.

But the existence of this ranking system does not prove that INFOLD is deliberately suppressing pro-Valko comments.

To make that claim, we would need additional evidence showing that INFOLD itself took specific action to reduce the visibility of those comments.

So please separate these two things:

FACT: Weibo uses a multi-factor algorithm to rank comments.
NOT PROVEN: INFOLD is deliberately using that system to suppress Valko supporters.

We should not present the second claim as if it were an established fact.

It's also likely that PPG has made internal policy changes as a direct result of what happened with Valko. Enacting those changes NOW will prevent any accusations of favoritism if/when they do the same for a Valko reinstatement.

But regardless, it's GOOD they're actually trying to manage the fandom to some degree now.
