So there I was on 13 between Marion and Harrisburg and I got lit up. He walks up and asked for license and registration/insurance. Looks at my license and says “I see you are a veteran and from Oklahoma, I’m not asking so don’t answer but I assume you’re armed. I will make you a deal don’t reach for yours and I won’t reach for mine”. I replied, “sounds fair if I was”. I am always so he was right. He wrote me a warning and we left. Only time I have ever been stopped in Illinois.

We need to be helping PFC 4-and-out get his proper treatment rather than shaming vets for seeking out that to which they are statutorily entitled.

The problem is less that PFC 4-and-out CAN’T get treatment than it is PFC 4-and-out never sought his place in the VA system because “other people had it worse” and “I’m not disabled” and by the time he really needed it, the time to process the paperwork exceeded his expected lifespan.

Normally, I agree with you, but you’re on the wrong side of this one because of pride - and that kind of mindset is contagious and separates others from the care they have earned and the care they may eventually need.

@CyborgPeds @thestinkeye Mine were all physical so I don’t have experience with mental issues. Also convincing doctors on prescriptions that were acceptable. It can be such a gauntlet balancing different government agencies.
