Hot take: the hardest part of crypto isn't picking what to buy.
It's the off-ramp.
Buying takes one click. Getting fiat back into a bank account in your own name, without a held transfer or a "source of funds" email, is where people get stuck.
Messiest off-ramp story?
Useful list. Beyond the headline size, I look at who receives the unlock. Investor and team tranches tend to hit the market very differently from ecosystem or treasury allocations that sit idle, and watching those wallets move to exchanges in the days before often tells you more than the date itself.
The question for anyone buying these: what do you actually own? In most setups it's a claim on an SPV or custodian holding the share, not a registered shareholding, so voting, dividend pass-through and what happens if the platform winds down all come down to the terms. Issuer objections make that fine print matter more.
Good milestone, but two things are worth separating. The rating speaks to reserve and issuer credit quality. It doesn't change who can redeem directly with the issuer (usually onboarded institutions) or issuer-level controls like freezes. For most retail, the real exit is still exchange liquidity.
@jessepollak Practical tip for anyone moving funds: "on Base" only helps if your exchange credits that specific token on Base. Send a stablecoin on a network their deposit page doesn't list and you're looking at a slow manual recovery at best. Check the network list before you hit send.
@DefiIgnas Worth flagging for non-US investors: it's still a US-listed ETF, so nonresident aliens holding more than $60k in US-situs assets carry US estate tax exposure. And the swap layer adds counterparty risk and funding-cost drag that the headline exposure doesn't show.
10/ Next: the tax paperwork that follows the money, reading your 1042-S and what to do when too much was withheld.
Not financial advice. Rules differ by entity (IBKR LLC vs IBKR HK, Schwab HK vs Schwab Global), so check yours.
What's held up your withdrawals? 👇
Yesterday: getting money into a US broker from a non-US bank. Tonight: getting it back out.
Deposits get all the attention, but withdrawals are where money gets reviewed, held, or quietly nibbled by fees.
The withdrawal leg, rule by rule 🧵
