Gp Capt Alok Chaudhry, then a Sqn Ldr, assumed duties as Flt Cdr during Safed Sagar after Sqn Ldr Ahuja was killed in action. His role during the conflict extended well beyond routine flying prog and appears to have been central to sustaining the squadron’s operational tempo.
With the squadron operating from two bases, Chaudhry planned the rotation and deployment of aircraft and personnel so that prolonged detachments at operational locations did not erode efficiency. The arrangement helped the squadron maintain 100 per cent aircraft serviceability during operations, while preserving continuity at both bases.
As the squadron’s Pilot Attack Instructor, he was also responsible for calculating level-release parameters for bombing from different altitudes. These calculations, combined with detailed mission briefings, contributed to a high proportion of direct hits on assigned targets. He flew operational missions himself, including both daytime and low-level night bombing sorties, while simultaneously coordinating the squadron’s operational, administrative and technical requirements.
For his leadership and contribution during Operation Safed Sagar, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal.
Chaudhry later returned to frontline command as the Commanding Officer of No. 17 Squadron, serving from 2003 to 2005.
Today we got a chance to host Dr. Anita Sengupta at our facility. In addition to interacting with our mission engineers, we were also privileged to a session where she shared her experience of working on @MarsCuriosity and more. Thanks @Doctor_Astro, it was an honour to host you!
Sunday Special | A moon-struck startup from Bengaluru seems finally set on its way to touch down and raise lunar dust, thanks to a tie-up with U.S. space agency NASA.

Congratulations to everyone around the world that made this possible. This is such an amazing feat. The faces during those seconds of silence were everything. #NASAInSight
Our @NASAInSight spacecraft stuck the #MarsLanding!
Its new home is Elysium Planitia, a still, flat region where it’s set to study seismic waves and heat deep below the surface of the Red Planet for a planned two-year mission. Learn more: https://t.co/fIPATUugFo
@su_pandey298@IMScChennai@IISERPune I also got a chance to catch this discussion online. I had a feeling of something being off but couldn't pinpoint what exactly. Strongly agree with your point on the rehashing and the lack of attention to the rampant insidious sexism.
@krishnabgowda
Sir, As a citizen of your constituency, I would request you to please check the workers for nearby construction workers setting up a shanty of sorts here. From kids & women bathing next to the road to the abulations performed

At a walking distance from their settlement, this is a breeding ground for disease and exploitation. Please look into their humane rehabilitation. I haven't attached any photo because I couldn't get myself to do it. It is plain sad to see this happening. Please do look into this.

Hi @BMTC_BENGALURU. Is the office maintaining any sort of data on how many requests from the thousands sent in the 'Need more buses' section are actually executed? How do we know someone is actually going through them.
