A kid can never hurt your feelings as much as this kid right here 😂. He told me “Only the best players where number 1 and you 16 you suck”🤣. The only person that ever step on the football feild and disrespected me and not get his head knock off 💯. My Little Camper ❤️. #JCFB
@hoodiekev Karsten has a lot to learn and we look forward to your help! He definitely struggles with impulse control. I shared this post with him as it was a teaching moment for him. He will be at bball camp next week at the 6pm time and he's hoping to see you again.
Fair means everyone gets what they need. Equal means everyone gets the same. Consistency means I do the same every time. Consistently be fair. Consistently stop worrying about treating everyone the same. #edchat#thatonekid#tlap#kidsdeserveit
I can read here or there I can read anywhere! Fun times this week at Southwest celebrating #JCReads and #DrSeuss I especially loved doing a Dierking version of an interactive read aloud with Gertrude McFuzz and Yertle the Turtle in my pajamas!
Sometimes we just have to outlast certain kids. They will do everything they can to push us away. Trying to prove correct their view (often deserved) of adults quitting on them in the world is correct. #edchat#kidsdeserveit#tlap#leapeffect#culturize#thatonekid#dontquit
Check out my donors choose project! I wear the social worker hat and the counselor hat in my building and this year I'm upping my counselor role. https://t.co/JhtfWcRFh2
This...with trauma informed and ACE's being buzz words this article is brilliant bringing it home to the core...RELATIONSHIPS. I love the last part to change ACEs "screening" to ACEs "listening".
Great article on the science of early adversity: ACE's are NOT actionable, relational health is both actionable and measurable.. @BDPerry@ChildTraumaAcad Mr. Rogers, Trauma-Informed Care, and the Limits of Information https://t.co/bN29bGlLaw
Principals don't lead by walking around the school. They lead by doing: spending some time each term doing the work of their teachers. It helps them understand what's going on and lets their staff know that they're not above it https://t.co/fz9JeyWh34
Great training tonight thanks to @missourictf and @MOKidsFirst Not only was it informative as a professional but as a parent as well. Learn the 5 steps to prevention of sexual abuse. Its estimated that 1 in 10 children have been sexually abused by 18 and 90% know their abuser.
Relationships are the foundation w difficult kids. Every. Single. Time. Looking elsewhere (tickets, charts, etc...) wastes time & often make things worse. Trust the process. Building valuable anything always takes longer than planned.
