By the time the lifeboat reached the boat, they were clear out of the harbour. The 2 persons in the water were then taken by the inshore lifeboat back to the RNLI station to warm up. The up-turned boat was towed back to Kingston beach by a coxed four from the rowing club. 3/3

Both lifeboats were launched to search for a person reported to have fallen off #Brighton Palace Pier this evening along with @ShorehamCG @NCGIncident @sussex_police & the coastguard helicopter. An extensive search was carried out at sea & along the shoreline.

🚨 We were paged at 6.33pm along with Newhaven & Shoreham CG to reports of a person entering the water at King Alfred. On arrival, the casualty had exited the water.

Team have been tasked twice this evening. First to people on an inflatable drifting out. Stood down on route as safety ashore then immediately tasked with @ShorehamRNLI to report of windsurfer in difficulty. Made own way to shore. Both calls with good intent.
