Your legs may sink and that's okay! Everybody floats differently. Practise at a safe location like a swimming pool to learn how you float best.
In a coastal emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Should we still be encouraging people to raise their hand to signal for help when drowning if we know this can compromise their airway? An interesting video which neatly shows the challenge #FloatToLive
Even with a life jacket on, it is difficult to escape from the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, which has a drop of just one meter.
This shows how dangerous the river can be.
So what should be done in such a situation?
It's set to reach 30°C in the UK, and we know people will flock to the coast 🌡️
Please visit a lifeguarded beach, swim between the red and yellow flags and if you get into trouble: #FloatToLive
