Thank you to everyone who came out to @PFUNCTIONARY last night to celebrate my memoir and discuss how to navigate harm in our music scenes.
Special thanks to @ryanstopera Dionne Sims, @blkgarnetbooks, @Christin612 + @ShowUpTC for making this event a reality!
Til next time…
This Friday @PsalmOne will be talking about her new book, and having a community conversation with @Christin612 of @ShowUpTC and Dionne Sims of @blkgarnetbooks on rebuilding safer spaces in the Twin Cities from 6pm-9pm at @PFUNCTIONARY
Masks strongly encouraged
ICYMI: I interviewed @PsalmOne about her new book “Navigating Hip Hop and Relationships in a Culture of Misogyny,” and her upcoming album “BIGG PERRM” for @TheCurrent yesterday.
I can't say enough how important of a text @psalmone's book is. I'm halfway through and just fucking thrilled it exists.
you can order it here, or buy it at the event (and get it signed!): https://t.co/fEWWxIjKj6

We keep each other safe. What 1st Ave is doing right now mirrors how they’ve moved in the past, consciously or not (example: upper harbor terminal; addressing abuse). This is a *choice.*
Enforce stated policies, or change them to reflect practiced values.
We will keep building new queer spaces and work diligently to protect our trans siblings while dismantling the systems that value transphobes and bigots over the people who face oppression and violence from every direction today.
We just want to unequivocally state that we at the Daily Taylr love our trans family. It's incredibly disheartening to see institutions like @FirstAvenue & @VarsityTheater show us how empty their words of support are, but they were never going to show any true solidarity anyway.
#TrainingThursday: If we work together, we can end racist police harassment once and for all. We just have to be dedicated. Click here to attend our training on May 11th: https://t.co/XOgZBgr1WC
