State councils continue to harass FMGs despite the 18‑03‑26 notice of @nmc_bharat. Odisha and several other councils including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Uttarakhand remain biased whenever it comes to doing something positive for FMGs, with only a few exceptions.
@MoHFW_INDIA@JPNadda, it’s time to intervene and uplift the quality and accountability of our medical boards.
Requesting @NMC_BHARAT to conduct a meeting with all State Medical Councils and instruct them to accept the compensation certificates already issued by universities to FMGs, as per the NMC notice dated 18 March 2026.
Most State Medical Councils are confused due to the 6 March notice, which has already been withdrawn.
Also requesting @NMC_BHARAT to address the issue of FMGL‑21 regulation disparity, which has already been formally conveyed to the NMC through the association’s letterhead.

A major relief for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) in India and abroad! ✅
Representatives from @aimsa_fmsw and @official_afa held a meeting with the Secretary and officials of the @NMC_BHARAT regarding the notice issued on 06-03-2026. During the meeting, they raised and discussed in detail the concerns and difficulties faced by FMGs due to the recent notification.
Our representatives strongly conveyed the demand to revise the notice. As per the verbal discussion with officials, the NMC has shown willingness to consider modifying the relevant points in the notice in response to the issues raised by FMGs.
This development brings significant hope and relief to FMGs across India and abroad.
Kudos to unity of FMGs and all social media platforms and faculty teachers for supporting us!

I am a Foreign Medical Graduate currently doing my internship in India. I have already cleared the mandatory screening exam required for all FMGs.
Until 5 March, I was eligible to appear for NEET-PG 2026. But suddenly, the National Medical Commission issued a notice giving a “clarification” about the COVID guidelines from 2019.
According to this new clarification, any FMG who attended online classes during COVID will have to extend their medical degree duration. For example, if a student took admission in 2019 and attended online classes in the second year due to COVID, their course will now be considered 6 years instead of 5 years.
However, earlier the NMC had clearly stated that students only needed a compensation certificate from their university, confirming that the online classes were later compensated within the 5-year course duration. Based on that rule, we submitted the compensation certificate while applying for our screening exam and also while receiving our passing certificate and provisional registration from NMC. At that time, everything was accepted without any objection.
Now suddenly, after all this, we are being told that our internship will be extended because of those online classes during COVID.
Many of us are already 26–30 years old, working extremely hard in internship. On top of that, most FMGs are doing unpaid internships. NEET-PG was our hope — that once internship is completed, we could appear for the exam, start our residency, and finally begin earning to support our families.
For the last 6–7 months, I have been preparing seriously for NEET-PG. With this sudden decision, all that effort feels wasted. I know knowledge never goes to waste, but realistically we also need to start earning and building our lives, not just keep studying endlessly while working unpaid.
Another important question is about fairness. During COVID, online classes were conducted everywhere, including for students studying in India. Then why is this rule being applied only to Foreign Medical Graduates? The Indian Constitution talks about equality, so why this discrimination?
FMGs already go through an additional screening exam to prove that our knowledge meets the required standards. If the purpose is to ensure competence, then why is there no similar screening for Indian graduates before they start practicing? After all, every doctor carries someone’s life in their hands.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are only asking for fair and equal treatment.
How long will this discrimination continue?
We want justice.
And we want it now.

No extra internship.🎯
Accept the Compensation letter for all the FMGs either Covid era online students or Russia Ukraine war era online students.
⏩Withdraw the NMC NOTICE.
‼️The rule should be the same for FMGs & IMGs

The Constitution of India guarantees Right to Equality (Art. 14), non-discrimination (Art. 15), and equal opportunity in employment (Art. 16).
Then why is @NMC_BHARAT forcing only FMGs to redo/extend courses for COVID disruptions when no other medical graduates face such conditions? This selective rule affects our eligibility and opportunities.
Is this equality before law? Please reconsider & revoke the 6 March notice.
