If we valued art we'd have made livelihoods for traditional artist communities secure and advance our cultural lineage. Last year, RJ govt's ad-hoc 2k crore package left out travelling cultural workers like Raees.

Raees Khan of Pratappura, Jaisalmer is a travelling cultural worker. His family lives in Khilana gaon #Rajasthan where he leads a folk band of four. There are around 15 families in this village who are in this profession for generations, left without income during lockdown.
