@tallinzen I somehow think that nowadays people only need to put their work online, either arxiv or twitter, and that's enough for people to claim the credits of their work. At the end of the day, the originality of the idea matters the most I guess.
@ericjang11 confs provide free registrations to top reviewers, which i think serves as some kinda incentive for GRAD STUDENTS to write better reviews. I honestly don't think it matters to anyone else.
Although I work on deeplearning rated things, Iβm still quite surprised and impressed by how much deeplearning has been applied in various domains and in services we use everyday, and by the effort on making it scalable with tolerable latency
