Toyota aka "Toyato" advises people to fill petrol from "authorised" and "reputed" fuel stations only.
I request @PetroleumMin @HardeepSPuri @IndianOilcl @HPCL @BPCLimited @Jiobpofficial @NayaraEnergy to share a list of "unauthorised" fuel stations operating across the country so that people can avoid using them. @Toyota_India seems to have some clue about these pumps.
Also, @PetroleumMin should answer if running an "unauthorised" petrol pump is permitted in India. If not, what action has it taken against such "unauthorised" pumps? @HMOIndia pl see if the petroleum ministry needs help in law enforcement.

E20 gives old cars a slow death but not an immediate death.

Immediate issues are because of the pump level adulteration, may be no check on ethanol quality & percentage and separation in underground tanks too.

Authorities actually have should fix this issue before e20 mandate. This news also confirms that pump level mess is rampant.

The dealership quoted me Rs 9608 replacement cost, which included a new fuel pump and fuel filter."

Petrol pump owners across India have reportedly started receiving calls from field officers asking whether they are willing to install separate storage tanks for E0, E10, and E20 fuel.

However, almost 99% of them are refusing, as the entire cost of excavation, infrastructure changes, and installation has to be borne by the pump owners themselves.

This is what a petrol pump owner told me during a call yesterday.

If this continues, it appears there may ultimately be no separate choice available at fuel stations whether it’s E0 or E20, consumers may simply have to buy whatever fuel is supplied! 🙏🏻 #Ethanol

A relative of mine(middle-class family )bought a ₹20 lakh car (KIA SELTOS ) after years of savings. One tank of allegedly contaminated petrol destroys the engine.

Insurance denies the claim. They simply blame it on ethanol

The fuel company shifts responsibility.
The owner is left with a massive repair bill.
The car has become useless.

If contaminated fuel damages a vehicle, who is accountable?

This cannot become another case where the common man pays for someone else’s negligence.

Ethanol wasn’t an issue till April. E20 was implemented last year itself and people moved on from it.

But talks of implementation of e22 and e27 triggered the talks again and cars showing issues in the last 2-3 months caught everyone’s attention.

Now, it surely has become a ‘Jin’ 🧞‍♂️

This time around, reaction & anger is 10 times more. Last time, it was burried under GST cuts.

Refreshing to see Global Crude Oil prices sitting again at $75 from $125 (per barrel) during war times.

Ideally, Petrol should be priced what it was before the hike and same for the LPG gas now.

Second, the panic & madness to blend more ethanol should be over too when supply chain is fixed.

First, the Ministry of Petroleum sits on my RTI for 2 months. Then, they play a shell game, deflecting it to ARAI and OMCs. Now, ARAI hides behind "confidentiality" to suppress the research reports.

​If the Govt cited IOCL, ARAI, and SIAM studies in their press release to push the E20 mandate, why is the data now a state secret? What’s "confidential" about mileage drops and engine corrosion?

​This isn't about trade secrets; it’s about a total lack of accountability. The refusal to share reports only confirms the suspicion: the Ministry lied in their press release, and the "extensive research" is a ghost. Millions of vehicle owners are being used as guinea pigs for a policy backed by zero transparent science.

Deceptive headline. All petrol available in India is adulterated with ethanol, e20 being the standard (as declared on paper). The excise duty waiver has only been announced for petrol with over 22% adulteration with ethanol.
Over 80% petrol vehicles in India are not compatible with anything above e10. This madness to add more and more ethanol is just an attack on the finances of the vehicle owners.

Media headlines like these are trying to whitewash a blatant scam going on right in front of our eyes.

Its been 2 years since the Pune Porche homicide case and the judiciary has not even completed the filing of charges. WTF!?

And the sad thing is that the main juvenile accused does not go to jail even when this crime is heinous. Compare this to Shrilla case in US - she was also juvenile but now serving two lifetimes simultaneously in jail without parole for atleast 15 years.

The most shocking however is that the lawyers can literally stall any case for years at supreme court level - what is this absolute power?

Yesterday, I posted about my sibling’s petrol car getting stranded on the road due to a fuel pump failure. The company itself confirmed it was linked to a fuel blending issue related to ethanol.

But unfortunately, I had to delete the post because of immense pressure from higher authorities. For the first time in my life, I was forced to take down something purely out of concern for family safety and precautions.

The unfortunate truth is that whenever someone speaks up about ethanol-related issues, attempts are made to silence them. This may continue, but these problems won’t disappear and tomorrow it could be my own car stranded the same way.
