Grateful & inspired by all who showed up to rally to put an end to racially-biased traffic stops in SF. Let’s turn up tonight at @SFPDCommission and raise our voices to support their vote to adopt the most comprehensive policy in the country to #EndBiasedStops.
We’re at City Hall w/a broad coalition urging @SFPDCommission to vote YES tonight on the most comprehensive policy in the country to address the harms caused by racially-biased traffic stops. WATCH LIVE on https://t.co/qImYs5I6dt 1/

Together we stopped the construction of a new jail in 2015 and closed the jail at 850 Bryant. We are now seeing a renewed call to criminalize and incarcerate more San Franciscans, directing more and more resources to policing and jailing.
👉 We need your help to put public pressure on the city and the Sheriff. Electronic monitoring is another form of caging; it is not part of the future we want to build.
DA @BrookeJenkinsSF’s newly announced policies around drug cases are exactly the type of regressive & carceral practices that have exacerbated the public health crisis of substance abuse, and have fueled the mass incarceration of impoverished and BIPOC communities for decades 1/
SF’s trial backlog due to COVID has led to more COVID -- people being kept in jail awaiting trial, incl. hundreds past their legal deadline, has made it difficult to control the latest outbreak of COVID. The result: less healthcare & more isolation for detained community members.
For the 1st time in 2+ years, San Francisco has over 20 youth locked in cages at juvenile hall. This is a result of a deceptive recall & new DA who demoted/replaced Kasie Lee whom @chesaboudin had put in charge of implementing sweeping Restorative Justice & juvenile reforms.🚩🚨

The Drug War is officially back on in San Francisco. For the first time in years, people are being prosecuted for simply using drugs or possessing paraphernalia. It’s hard to fully comprehend the harm this will cause. I’ll try to lay it out below.
On Monday, the SF Board of Supervisors will consider giving the police sweeping access to private security cameras throughout the city.
This one of the biggest expansions of the surveillance state in city history.
