Religious trauma is not an attack on one's self, as much as it is the undoing of entire families and support systems, in the face of gaslighting, moving goalposts, and accusations of mental illness intended to pathologize, stigmatize, collectively scapegoat, and silence someone.

People love talking about “you can’t heal when you’re in a war zone,” but seldom want to talk about the suffering that occurs when leaving the war zone that’s been normalized/grown accustomed to.

Often we are there to fully complete the cycle, clear any remaining residue but more importantly to gather any parts of ourselves that got lost, left behind or stuck
