@Setee255375 The SSIP is part of the government effort to continuous teacher development and I believe is a good initiative. Teachers have a role now to proper implement the program in their respective schools. #FutureTrends
@Setee255375 I am part of the SGB members representing teachers (Teacher Component: lack of training or ineffective/insufficient training of the school governing body on their roles and responsibilities in the governance of the school is a major challenge in our rural schools. #FutureTrends
@Hildah_Riba19 These learners are required to return the tablet back to the school when they are done with their final exams. If the learner tablets is stolen or lost, they are required to make an affidavit and submit it to the school. #FutureTrends
@Hildah_Riba19 In terms of security it the learners responsibility to ensure safety of the gadget. In my organisation these tablets are rarely used in the classroom. Teachers are still using papers and chalk and touch methods. It’s seems as if they are not ready with the change. #FutureTrends
@NtombiAsakhe True. For a simple copying machine would require approximately 40k to be fixed if used with energy from generator. Load shedding is indeed affecting our day to day running of schools. Furthermore, heavy rains also destruct electricity distribution to societies. #FutureTrends
@Hildah_Riba19 Agree. Any kind of technology introduced in any organisation need consistent monitoring, maintenance and the ICT committee in school may play a huge role in the maintenance related issues. Teachers development on the school finance budget needs to be prioritised. #FutureTrends
@NombusoKN Indeed. I once taught and assessed using technology on a certain topic in Life Sciences grade 12. The subject advisor came and said he wants evidence in the learners books not in some smart phones. Indeed there must be a shift in our approach and ideology. #FutureTrends
The Mpumalanga Department of Education is changing the traditional classroom environment into a classroom of learning with technology. Educational leaders need to ask themselves whether educators are prepared with the transition to a digital classroom. #FutureTrends
@NaidooPoovendri Educational leaders, all the other committees in schools, school management team, school governing body and all the other stakeholders need to have similar vision of promoting quality education (promoting learning). It is true, that the principal cannot win alone. #FutureTrends
@ElekanyaniVele Yes. In schools there must be an ICT committee who will evaluate the effective use of technology in schools and provide continuous feedback to all the stakeholders of the school. Lately, in schools- committees are created for compliance and are many & ineffective. #FutureTrends

Research shows that in some schools there is technology provided by the DBE however it is not used for it intended purpose. School leaders need to ensure that resources in schools are not locked in storage rooms but used purposeful. #FutureTrends
@ElekanyaniVele@JasonFortu34639 Distributive leadership: Young teachers needs to be given the role to drive technological implementation in schools since they are skilled and are familiar with current event or current technology use around the world. #FutureTrends
@ElekanyaniVele@LLL50737703 True. And the asset register is one of the important tool to use in order to manage resources in schools. Any resource it maybe be new chairs for teachers, a new laptop for the clerk office all needs to be registered in the assert register. #FutureTrends
@Setee255375 The PL1 educator skillful in digital technology may be given an opportunity to workshop and train the entire staff in the school. The PL1 teacher is given an opportunity to lead the project of using technology in schools and the school principal is a learner. #FutureTrends
@Setee255375 In schools there is diversity in terms of staff personnel, some are young and some are veterans, some know how to handle technology and some do not. A school leader may use the skills from a PL1 who knows technology in order to benefit the entire staff personnel. #FutureTrends
@LungstaEliana Paper budget of schools every school academic year they usually have budget specifically for school maintenance. Therefore, Financial resources in schools need to be used for what is being budgeted for. #FutureTrends
@LungstaEliana In schools there are educators who are conversant with technology and they can come in and lead the process of new technology implementation. The school governing body has a role to assist the in raising funds, those funds may be diverted to ICT maintenance. #FutureTrends
@JasonFortu34639 You are highly correct. An effective school management team is the one that share the same vision and goals. The one that is supportive of any initiative that will move the school to further heights. #FutureTrends
@NdumyMlotshwa One needs to ask whether can the school financial resources be used to capacitate educators on new skills based on current affairs such as in ICT? What is the role of the district and provisional government department on capacity development for teachers? #FutureTrends
@LLL50737703 There is a need for an updated resource register, every resource donated or bought by the school or DBE be put in black and white. Also, a review of the asset register on the maintenance, use & or not used resources. What needs to follow is strategic planning. #FutureTrends
@MziPfukani I recommend that an Information communication and Technology (ICT) committee be formulated in the school level and construct a policy on ICT together with the SGB and highlight financial implications of the policy, such as teacher development on new introduced tech. #FutureTrends
@MziPfukani In the next budget meeting, can there be budget allocated on teacher development specifically on new technology introduced in the school. So a more informed person may come to the school and train the staff on the use of the new machine. #FutureTrends
