I will say, as much as I was excited about Lupita as Helen, casting a black woman in the role only to unnecessarily have her character face abuse when it wasn't even the case in the Odyssey is genuinely so weird.
HOW THE HELL do you make a movie about the odyssey and decide not to include the olive tree bed?? penelope’s final test is the one moment where she outwits even odysseus, proving his identity through a secret only the two of them share. HOW TF do you leave that out???

Today marks the 78th anniversary of the Nakba (catastrophe), during which more than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled and over 400 villages were destroyed to establish the State of Israel.
Israel has passed the death penalty solely for Palestinians, enforced through military courts with a 96% conviction rate.
Israeli Minister Ben Gvir popped champagne.
The Israeli government is raising a toast to genocidal apartheid. The UK government is arming and funding it.
Israeli lawmakers opened bottles of champagne last night (Monday, March 30), to celebrate the introduction of the death penalty for Palestinians into Israeli law.
Since October 2023, Israel has killed at least 72,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and at least 1,050 in the West Bank. During this time, more than 80 Palestinian have died in Israeli prisons, which have become a network of torture camps where inmates are subjected to continuous abuse and violence.
The Death Penalty Law is another tool Israel is using to kill Palestinians.
