@bythewaybro Been following this guy since he went viral on that pitching channel a couple years ago. Couldn't believe what I was looking at and then was hyped when the Tigers signed him.
His "yoshi" pitch is insane. Hope he gets a shot in the majors
@JeffreyLee44@HRPokerJT@espnSteveLevy Luck might be true over the course of a handful games, but you do not hit .300 over the course of a 162 games bc of good luck and you do not bat .220 bc of bad luck.
More than enough games to account for luck, slumps, etc. to where the true value of the player shows through
@Howansbr@NSmiggs@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 I think they'd factor in that he was playing out of position, but why does that matter? I thought wrc+ was the only stat that mattered
@Howansbr@NSmiggs@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Bro is dead set that the triple crown player who led his team to the WS doesn't deserve it over another guy bc they had an equal wrc+😂
@Howansbr@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 By a weighted calculation they were even. The results were not even tho. MVP is picked on results, not a calculation. Always will be.
Miggy was playing third due to Prince joining at first. Hence the WAR discrepancy.
@Door_Goblin@Howansbr@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Lol exactly. It's great for scouting and player evaluation, not great on picking the MVP.
"We're gonna go with Trout. I know Miggy had a better season, but our computer says Trout would've been better"
@Howansbr@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Practically even in wrc+. So the guy that hits the best for contact, power, and drives in the most runs would probably come out ahead there then.
@Howansbr@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Objectively, he was the best by pretty much every offensive stat. Trout was a better athlete, but not a better player. Miggy was playing out of position at third base the whole season too.
@AugustRamsDucks@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Conveniently ignoring home runs and batting average. Also had a higher OPS.
Trout was a better athlete, but Miggy performed better and was definitely the MVP.
@AugustRamsDucks@313sports8176@hndrxx_34 Very flawed mindset. Anyone can be hot for one game and happen to get the cycle. The triple crown does not happen by chance.
Home runs, BA, and RBI are arguably the most important production stats as well lol
Being the best contact & power hitter probably means you're the best
