@VraserX Obviously as a humanist and a Marxist I want to avoid heavy AI regulation. Heavy handed regulation will massively delay medical research and centralising the economy
@ssraza21 Building a foundation of knowledge on LLMs seems really bad, but ignoring their applications is also bad. No AI for K-8 seems like a good compromise to me
@SpaceTeapot18@fentinatalie If you think curing diseases is the same as fantasy creatures I don’t know what to tell you. Don’t use AI and don’t eat almonds I guess, but like, don’t try to fuck over the people who can imagine a better world
@ZachJohnson515 It’s sort of out best shot at saving and uplifting humanity though. Like, sure, the memes are ugly and the short form videos are godawful brain poison, but the tech has real useful applications to further the interests of humankind
@PeterandWhitney How much time do actually spend in power outages? I’m in a third world country and we get about 2 hours of planned power outages a month, plus maybe an extra hour a month when it storms really hard
@NoemiTitarenco Most people can’t tell. Loads of AI replies and posts are covered in positive comments, many (but not all) of which are also AI. Social media needs to detect and block it or we’re going to be in majority AI networks soon
@BarneyBraintree@xereeto AI is pretty democratic actually, broke kids with $20 android phones in the global south can access near-cutting edge models for free
