A heated confrontation erupted at the Badami Cave Temples when a Hindu woman objected to a Muslim woman wearing footwear inside the sacred premises.

The woman, an employee working in an office located within the heritage site, was seen disrespecting Hindu religious sentiments.

Why is a Muslim woman employed at a Hindu heritage site? Would the same arrangement be accepted if roles were reversed, for instance, if a Hindu woman entered a mosque or dargah wearing footwear?

Why are only Hindu temples placed under direct government and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) control, when these authorities appear unable or unwilling to safeguard even the basic religious sentiments of the Hindu majority, who are often treated as second-class citizens in their own country?

But of course, as always, Karnataka seems to end at a certain line on the map.

North Karnataka—despite contributing land, resources, and talent—continues to wait patiently for its turn. Industrial parks, logistics hubs, large-scale investments… all still largely a distant headline rather than on-ground reality here.

At this rate, we might just keep reading about “Karnataka’s growth story” and wondering when it will actually include Kalyana Karnataka and Kittur Karnataka in any meaningful way.

750 e-buses have been issued to 10 cities in karnataka. The issued buses are meant for urban areas with 3-40 lac population either currently without proper bus network or desirous of upgrading to electric. It comes with operating subsidy and depot subsidy as well.

These are expected to go to Mysuru, Mangaluru, Davangere, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Belagavi, Hubballi, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Ballari, and Vijayapura with 100 buses each for the 5 major cities and 50 each for the smaller 5 cities.

What is clearly a Hindu temple, and what should have simply been given to Hindus, now turns into a Masjid on Fridays!

And the irony is that the judiciary gives permission for the same. I am talking about Bhojshala: this Friday, on Basant Panchami, the campus will serve as both a temple of Maa Vagdevi and a masjid for Muslims, as per the court order.

I had been there last year, the Muslims call our havan kund their wuzu khana; where we offer aahuti, they will spit water. We take our slippers outside, they walk with them inside our temple, walk over inscriptions, and more.
