Night is a noisy room. The body is tired but the brain is the last guard on shift, pacing the hallway, checking locks that do not exist. Your core temperature is still a little high, the blue light you swallowed keeps circling, the wake signal from the body clock is stubborn. Melatonin knocks and gets told to wait outside. So the mind does what a bored sentinel does. It inventories every regret, writes speeches you will never give, hears the fridge hum and names it danger. Sleep tries to enter and gets interrogated at the door.
Morning is different. The world has not started asking for you yet. Sheets are cool, the window is gray, and your nervous system stops pretending to be a soldier. Adenosine has stacked up like sandbags all night and finally you let it cover you. The last hours before the alarm are heavy with REM, syrupy and bright, the kind of sleep that drops strange movies in your lap. You float there, half in, half out, while the kettle thinks about boiling and never does. Even the first drumbeat of cortisol feels like distant traffic, something you can fold into the dream and ride for a few more minutes. No decisions. No performance. Only weight and warmth and that honeyed slide back under.
I think that is why night resists and morning forgives. In the dark you are guarding the door. At dawn you are allowed to let it swing open. The calendar cannot find you yet. The room breathes. And for a brief soft stretch, you do too.
(1/n)🚨 Another techie attacked in Bengaluru.
My son, a Bengaluru techie, was brutally assaulted on 31st Aug near MKR Sports Arena, Thubarahalli.
The attacker (EcoSport KA 03 MY 294) is on video saying:
“Go to Marathahalli Police Station and tell my name is Gagan Reddy.”
Just saw spiderman 2 and I was flooded with memories of when I was four and used to watch this before bed every night in my spiderman night suit. There's something so human-like about these films that the MCU seems to miss. (1/2)
