When I was younger, I remember making and swapping mixtapes and CDs for friends. The people around me are how I found so much great new music. And while it’s been a minute since I last made a mixtape 😂 I’ve never stopped sharing music with the people I care about. That sharing has just become a lot easier via Messages on Spotify.
Starting this week, you'll be able to send songs, playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks directly to friends and family, all within the app. I’m excited about what this unlocks. Because when sharing becomes part of the listening experience, discovery becomes more personal, more immediate, and a whole lot easier. Curious to hear what you all think.
Playlists have always been core to how people experience Spotify (there are nearly 9 billion user-generated playlists and counting). And now, we're making that experience even better and giving users more control over how things flow. Check out our new playlist transitions, rolling out in beta to Premium users this week and let me know what you think.
A year ago we launched AI Playlist in beta and since then there have been millions of playlists created. Now, we’re rolling it out to 40+ more markets. Excited for more people to test it out and if you’ve tried it out already, let me know what you think.
Podcasters - what if I told you could offer your pod to any listener around the world, in their own local language but still keep it in your own voice? That’s the pilot we’re launching @Spotify!
It’s called Voice Translation and using AI, translates podcasts episodes into alternate languages, all in the podcaster’s voice. It’s pretty insane. Take a look and let me know what you think!

I read that the maximum size of a document in the current PDF standard is 381km x 381km and I thought woah hilarious, how Borgesian is that? And then I looked it up and it's only fucking true.
Liz Truss complains UK media focuses overly on trivialities + does not properly understand economics. This from someone who refused to do proper 30-minute prime-time interview with me when running for Tory leader which would have majored on her ropey understanding of economic policy. Which she knew — so she avoided it.
