WE ARE HOME 📡 These were my first words upon making contact with the lunar surface ahead of the SignaLuna 1 mission. This mission has been years in the making, a dream of finally reaching the Moon.

A short story of SignaLuna 1, the first tokenized asset to make contact with the lunar surface and return to Earth.

Upon arriving at the Paul Plishner Radio Telescope, owned and operated by the Deep Space Exploration Society, I was in awe of the 18-meter dish, capable of transceiving signals to and from celestial objects. This dish regularly listens to pulsars from the outer arms of the Milky Way and beyond. As an amateur radio astronomer, how could one not be thrilled to now SEND data to the cosmos?

I imagined the awe the Voyager probes must have observed passing by the Moon on their way toward interstellar space. I thought of the incredible scientists who architected the Voyager missions and the engineers who built the technologies, showing humanity we have the potential to belong among complex life forms across the stars.

As Kevin Flynn from TRON said, "I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day, I got in."
