If you run a shop, office or building with "smart" kit (fridges, HVAC, cameras, alarms), I'd check:

Is the control panel reachable from the internet? It shouldn't be, or only via VPN.
Default logins changed?
Firmware updated?

Sunday night, hackers got into the fridge controls at hundreds of French supermarkets and set them to nonstop defrost. Some units reportedly hit 50°C. Stores binned chilled and frozen food.

How they got in isn't confirmed yet. Reports point to older Danfoss control software, and researchers had already published flaws in those controllers.

In my experience, kit like this sits online for years with an old password and no updates. Nobody owns it.

I deal with incidents for a living, and old unpatched systems are almost never a problem on day one. They become a problem quietly, on some random day nobody warned you about.

If the person is cant pay doesnt matter the nationality it basically comes out of your premiums, thats why bills are so high for medical treatment
