1 Corinthians 3:15 saved yet so as through fire. Matthew 5:26 you will not get out till you have paid last penny. Matthew 12:32 sin not forgiven in this age or in age to come implies some sin forgiven after death. 2 Maccabees 12:44 prayer for dead that they might be loosed from sins.

Papacy
Matthew 16:18 thou art Peter and on this rock I will build my church. Isaiah 22:22 key of David given to steward, same language as keys of kingdom. Luke 22:32 I prayed for thee that thy faith fail not, strengthen brethren. John 21:17 feed my sheep.

Relic veneration
2 Kings 13:21 dead man touched bones of Elisha and revived. Acts 5:15 shadow of Peter healed. Acts 19:12 handkerchiefs from Paul healed. If God uses cloth and bones, honoring them is biblical.

Praying the rosary

Independence Is Meaningless Without Real Freedom

As we continue to reflect on Nigeria’s Independence, we must remember that independence means very little if citizens cannot freely express themselves, within the bounds of the law, without fear.

Reports that some Nigerians in Akwa Ibom were arrested simply for identifying with the Obidient Movement should worry every Nigerian who believes in democracy and freedom, especially when such identification is a constitutional right.

One of the greatest tragedies of our society is that people who once described themselves as freedom fighters can become defenders of oppression when they eventually occupy positions of authority. Those who once complained about injustice can become comfortable with injustice when it is being perpetrated against people they disagree with. That must not be the Nigeria we accept.

Our independence must ultimately mean freedom from fear, injustice, intolerance and abuse of power.
