At the hotel in Frankfurt there was a publishing convention and every room was taken, parties all night. I didn’t know there were so many book publishers in the world. I was trying to find Crystal Lake Publishing so I could congratulate them on publishing The Great God Pan, one of my favorite books. I thought they might be interested in some of my stories. Unfortunately it was too crowded and I never did find them.

'He who adventures in London has a foretaste of infinity. There is a region beyond Ultima Thule' (Arthur Machen @silurist) If only it were true although Machen's ineffable city still manages to survive in odd nooks & crannies that developers have forgotten. (art William Hyde)

Never fails to blow my mind that Faunus, the society journal, is such a lovely numbered limited edition hardcover.
Wonderful news! I learned today that my essay ‘Arthur Machen and the Mannikins of the Mine’ that was published in Faunus, has been awarded by The Friends of Arthur Machen Society in their essay prizes contest!
'Somewhere amongst the cairns or in the caves
The Celtic Saints would come to me, the ledge of time we walk on, like a thin cliff-path
High in the mist, would show the precipice'
John Betjeman on his adoration of Arthur Machen's @Silurist 'The Secret Glory' as a young man.
