60 years ago today, Christo and Jeanne-Claude closed the Rue Visconti in Paris with 89 oil barrels as a poetic response to the Berlin Wall, built in 1961. Today, "Wall of Oil Barrels—The Iron Curtain" is considered one of the most significant artworks of the 1960s era.
