@MeDaTeacher1@Angry_Staffer I'm good with that. I think folks pushing for Buttgieg aren't thinking about how that would play in parts of the country. And I agree, I think he would make a fantastic Secretary of State.
@AmericanPurrl@thejackhopkins Dependent edema or lymphedema (me), you can bet the man is not limiting his salt intake. But I want him to last until the election because I think the next weeks are going to be a new kind of H3ll for him.
@RadioFreeTom Meanwhile, after his speech, some of the NPR commentators went right to discussing his health status and whether he'd be able to finish his term in office. Really, NPR? Really!?
@RadioFreeTom I'm glad he stepped aside only because his impressive legacy of the last four years will remain intact, not overshadowed by the upcoming election or forgotten after four more years trying to get anything done while there are so many nincompoops in Congress.
If there's a silver lining for me in Biden's decision, it's that he will be remembered for the great president he is, not someone who either lost to a dictator wannabe or spent his second term fighting fascism. Now he can focus on doing what he does best, being our President.
@BeschlossDC I'm going to keep saying this till people catch on - we're watching a legal coup being rolled out - and the 6 justices know they're untouchable. The founders thought the Court would always uphold their oaths, so there's no way to stop the dirty 6. For now.
@stillchar@thejackhopkins@Moronmuskrat You're right. We need the Biden who referred to Giuliani in their 2007 debate as "having three words: a noun, a verb, and 9/11." Roast the felon with comebacks and humor before getting to the facts - his thin skin can't tolerate it.
@sissyroxx@nytimes@CNN Dems calling on Biden to step aside are what's wrong with the party. Instead of having his back, they're ready to throw him overboard, the ungrateful a&*holes. Yeah, let's ask the man with integrity to step aside while a convicted felon gets a pass. π€¬
@sissyroxx@nytimes@CNN Hey gf! My hubby subscribes to NYT, I read the Washington Post. I tell him it's good that one of us is still subscribing to a real newspaper. And it's not him! Lol
I'm seeing a Supreme Court dismantling our Constitution, one ruling at a time. It's a coup, and they're doing it from the bench of the highest court in the land. Then the states take it from there.
And we are powerless to stop them. Tell me I'm wrong. Please.
@JustinAMom999@LakotaMan1 I'm so sorry for your loss. My son is an only child, and just the thought of losing him at age 30 - I think a large part of me would die that day, too. Thank you so much for sharing this. I think your dream is going to stay with me, in a very good way.
@estein101 @briantylercohen@marceelias Thanks, for awhile I thought I was the only one who saw this. If the MAGA gerrymander their way into controlling Congress, we're screwed - they'll strip the president of any real powers to protect the Constitution.
Here's an ad I made years ago. I never put it on the air. Never translated it into Spanish. But given that Florida is within 4 points, someone needs to. This is a must watch for anyone who doesn't want America to turn into Cuba or another authoritarian regime.
@OzoneRangerRick@thejackhopkins The Ohio state legislature recently dropped Biden from the ballot because of some bs law they passed about 90 days, nomination blah blah blah ... Dems came up with a workaround. I wanted to see it challenged on precedent until I recalled Magats ony like that when it suits them.
@b_fianchetto@OurShallowState Thank you. I, too, am preparing for a hung jury. Having served on a jury, I saw how one hold-out, whatever the intention, can change the outcome of a trial that seemed obvious to the 11 other jury members. Just glad the stakes were not nearly as high as this case.
