I love being able to come up with my own illustrations and creations and run my business how I like it. Being an artist is not the most lucrative of jobs but it does make me very happy and I believe that happiness is the key to a healthy mind and a long life 💛

Day 3 of #marchmeetthemaker - I studied Environmental Geography at university and have known about the climate crisis before it was big news. I also work as an ecologist in my day job and have seen species decline first hand.

With my business I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible by using plastic free packaging (made from recycled paper where possible) and I plant a tree for every 10 orders through @onetreeplanted 🌱

I also believe that art should be fun and I absolutely love my job.

As well as worked on my USP (unique selling point - I'm an ecologist who is inspired by wildlife in my day job). After 8 years I'm still developing the brand and my products and would love you all to follow me on this journey! 🥰🌿🦋 #marchmeetthemaker

Hello! Today is the first day of March Meet the Maker and prompt no. 1 is "Brand Introduction!"

So here goes - my name is Jess and I run Silverpasta Crafts. I make handmade ornaments (mostly Christmas ones!) and am a digital illustrator inspired by wildlife.

I started the business in 2013 and it has changed a lot since then! The last couple of years I've developed the brand, designed a new logo (octopuses are my favourite animal ever)gone very environmentally friendly (plastic-free shipping and I plant one tree for every 10 orders!)
