@Ryan25700722538@TranquilityDraw I find what constitutes as "slop" or "garbage" in regard to games entirely comes down to whether or not a person likes the game. It's just meaningless words, often used as a way for salty people to hate on something.
@whaleee_99@TranquilityDraw@wolfradsenpai A tear drop shape isn't some sort of unique shape that no one else is allowed to use the moment Pokémon uses it. A tear drop shape is often used for most fish-like creatures. So, I really don't know what anyone is complaining over.
@Pungis11@Zeroes_King It's less about the shooting and more about the open world nature, the live combat, the using pals to farm, collect resources, etc. Being able to see your creatures do cute things throughout your base. You could entirely remove the guns and I would still love this game.
@soccer9001@Azmaticz They are drawing different species of whales. They are obviously going to look different when you do that. Even the artists who have been attempting to draw specifically an Orca whale, the only way they can make it look different is by not making it generic.
@xDracolich@DaybreakTownGSA It's got to be an LOD issue where the full texture isn't loading in properly. I have had that happen a few times. Not really sure what causes it.
@OriginalMNH@Azmaticz Came first at what? A generic whale? I don't think being first at doing a generic whale means you get to act like no one else can make a generic whale. That's the risk you take when you make something generic looking.
@Ada2987_art Palworld's design is a generic orca whale. The fact that it looks like a Pokémon says a lot more about Pokémon's designs, does it not?
The fact that people are looking at this generic ass design and thinking they copied Pokémon makes Pokémon look bad.
@EnchiLevvy@Dellikuri I would argue the reason that Kyogre and the Palworld whale looks similar is because they are both generic and simple. Seriously, the Palworld whale is literally just an orca whale with markings and gold bits attached.
@metalblade616 To be fair, the Palworld whale is really generic and simple. The fact that it looks like a Pokémon says a lot more about how generic and simple Pokémon designs are as well.
@CaydenTheDawg Ya, because that makes logical sense. Millions of players only play it because they want to spite Nintendo. Not because ... it's fun. /s
@_bazztek Whereas you all remind of all the furries who get into drama over another furry using similar colors to their furry and freaking out and claiming they stole it. Basically, you all are the equivalent of the drama on Deviantart.
@chara_betty Because I don't think people who constantly claim it's 1 to 1 understand what 1 to 1 means.
Plus, two generic looking whales looking like generic whales isn't something anyone should be shocked by.
@spacerunaway_ I am not even exaggerating. That Palworld whale is about as generic as can be. Yet the fact that it looks like a knockoff of a Pokémon just goes to show how uninspired Pokémon designs are to begin with.
@spacerunaway_ Oh know, Pokémon makes such generic creatures. You would think they would try a bit harder so that another generic whale doesn't look like it's a knockoff of their generic whale.
@xDracolich@DaybreakTownGSA I don't disagree. I think some of their best designs are definitely the ones where they are kind of just doing their own thing. I definitely like a lot of the more recent ones.
