The currently in development Italian DDX being a case in point, combining a 5” with multiple 3” and 30mm mounts alongside the missile armament.

@thegeneralboard I would certainly be interested in what changes you would like to see made to the basic design. I personally would expect more VLS cells on a hull of that size and I’d revisit the planned gun armament with greater emphasis on defence against massed drones and anti-ship missiles.

@CrossDavidB @duncsand Passivhaus can definitely have windows though, so it’s unfair to pin those design choices on eco grounds.
Actually isn’t shading supposed to be an important part of Passivhaus design to prevent solar heat build up, yet I see no sign of deep eaves or shading for the ‘arrow-slits’.
