Having gone through the onset of bipolar disorder in 2006 - and three very difficult years that followed - I want to encourage anyone facing the diagnosis.
As the saying goes: ‘If you’re going through hell, keep going.’ By the end of this year, I’ll be ten years without a relapse.
Although I deeply regret what the illness’s strange symptoms put loved ones through, I’m grateful for the sobering journey it forced me to undertake. Among other things, I’ve learned the difference between a successful person and a person of value.
If I had to offer just one piece of practical advice, it would be this… Get yourself a dog (provided you can take good care of him or her!). *And of course, take your medication. #mentalhealthawareness #bipolarmooddisorder #🐾🐾
