This is unlikely. While it’s true that only a minority of people support this insanity, a majority of this small group is female. Women are both the primary advocates of Self-ID and the population most likely to vote for politicians who support it. This is definitely not some new men’s rights ideology.
@mtomasky Nothing reveals the brain rot of modern Leftists more than their insistence that moderate liberals, like Bari Weiss or Bill Maher, are enemies of the left. As if anyone outside of the BLM, DEI, or trans cults is obviously full MAGA.
The next great political issue will be over federal bailouts for failing cities and states. If Democrats win the White House and Congress in 2028, they’ll just pass massive bailouts in a reconciliation bill, like Joe Biden did. But if Republicans retain power, I don’t think some of these cities/states can financially last until 2032, and it’ll get ugly.
@ThePosieParker Exact same reason that Emmett Till’s mother insisted on an open casket at his funeral. To expose people to the violence of racial injustice.
The thing I’m the proudest of in my entire life is not my military service or my advanced degree, but the fact that I’ve never voted for a Democrat in a national election. When I was in high school in the late 80’s I realized that Democrats think and act like irresponsible children, while talking like pompous pseudo-intellectuals.
I’m very grateful for everyone who started as a Democrat and eventually left, but I’m proud that I saw through the facade early on.
@thegreatright@Timcast This is definitely the better, and fairer, method. This way a person not eligible to vote could one day become productive and earn that right.
I was just being sarcastic, but seriously I think that the vast majority of voters (both right and left) just vote the platform and not the person. There have been a few Republicans in my life that I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for, but I still certainly didn’t vote for the Democrat.
@fem_mb@ElectionCenter_ Ok, sure, so he’s physically abusive and controlling, but what if I were to tell you that he’s also a Marxist! Kind of excuses everything else and makes you want to vote for him, right?!
@RuftynTufty@ChloeCole@PubWanghaf If that’s your opinion you’re welcome to it, but most of the people I’ve seen commenting seem to think we’re talking about “Corky” from Life Goes On or “Becky” from Glee. They need to understand that those actors/characters are outliers and not typical of Down Syndrome.
Many of these poor people will never be able to speak, feed themselves, or toilet themselves for their entire lives. I’ve personally met some of them, and it’s a very sad, exhausting existence, both for them and their poor caregivers.
People may still feel that abortion is wrong under any circumstance, but they should know that we aren’t just talking about that fun, quirky kid you met in a park one day.
With respect, the only Down Syndrome people you’ve ever met are the ones on the most functional end of the spectrum because they are the only ones who are capable of being out and about. There’s a whole other end of the spectrum where these people are never able to leave their houses/facilities and require literally 24 hour care.
@wideofthepost Anyone who actually, honestly believes Blasey Ford’s bizarre “He groped me at an undisclosed place and time as witnessed by people who testified under oath that they never met him” accusation is NPR level stupid.
@pjryan108@robbysoave The scariest part is that all of those unhinged lunatics are still around, they’ve just stopped being so honest about what they believe and what they want to do to the country.
Wokeness is the most successful rebranding of evil in human history
It takes racism, division, and hatred, wraps them in the language of compassion and justice, and calls it moral progress
It made people cheer for the destruction of their own societies while feeling morally superior for doing it
@ClayTravis Clay is being completely unfair! I’d like to see HIM try to fabricate hundreds of thousands of phony ballots in less than a month! He needs to have more sympathy for the hardships of others.
@justacrazymum@sappholives83 Unfortunately, this level of stupidity is common in 2026. However, it would have been absolutely unfathomable from the dawn of time up until 15 years ago.
@realsashastone I don’t understand it either. My favorite day every other year is the day I get to drive to the polls to vote against some Democrats. I’d walk two miles through a blizzard on a broken leg to do it!
