Als jongeren uren per dag op TikTok zitten – waar extreemrechtse content vaker wordt bevoordeeld – verbaast het mij niet dat jongeren massaal op de PVV stemden. Dit is waar techkapitalisme, extreemrechts en Poetin elkaar de hand schudden.

Goed nieuws! @EU_Commission is een onderzoek gestart naar TikToks verslavende algoritmen. Dit was een van de belangrijke oproepen in mijn @Europarl_EN  voorstellen tegen smartphoneverslaving. Nu over tot actie tegen dit soort algoritmen en alle vormen van verslavend ontwerp. 🔥

Great news! @EU_Commission started investigating the addictive design of TikTok's algorithms. This was one of the important calls in my @Europarl_EN Addictive Design Report. Now on to concrete action against these systems and against all forms of addictive design. 🔥

Increasingly, the LGBTIQ+ community, people of colour, and other minorities encounter hate speech, especially online. This needs to stop.

That's why we need to add hate speech and hate crimes to the list of EU crimes, to make sure everyone can feel safe everywhere in Europe.
