@rpobengaluru the letter asks to get a court order and fathers approval. My question is why? What are the rules? Annexure C on your own website states that I only need to submit my court petition. Attaching a copy of that. Please help me!
@mashrujeet@passportsevamea@rpobengaluru They’ve sent me this email. I really want to know if there’s a rule. Annexure C, e point says I need to submit my petition, which I have done. There’s no court order prohibiting my travel.
@rpobengaluru@passportsevamea I just received this letter from your office. Again without explaination as to why am I to get permission from court again which is a very lengthy process and again will involve hiring a lawyer when I am the sole guardian of my child since the last six years? @rpobengaluru
@mashrujeet@passportsevamea Applied at the Passport office in Lalbaug, Bengaluru and they assigned me to the Regional Passport Office in Koramangala. They refused to process it without the father’s consent, although I carried all documents as per the rules for single parents undergoing a divorce.
I submitted the required declarations and repeatedly asked for the rule that makes the father's consent mandatory in my case. No official could provide one.
As the sole breadwinner, my work may require international travel. If my daughter's passport cannot be renewed, I am effectively being forced to choose between career opportunities that support our livelihood and staying with my child. @DrSJaishankar@NCWIndia@DKShivakumar
@passportsevamea Can an estranged parent simply refuse consent and prevent a child from obtaining a passport despite there being no court order against travel?
I respectfully request clarification and assistance. @passportsevamea
@passportsevamea Yet Passport Seva officials refused to process her passport renewal unless I produced a letter of permission from her father, who is unwilling to provide one. @passportsevamea
