@the_shpa@M_Kay_Dunkley@jononugget @WAHealth Great ideas! e.g. Assessing for values alignment in interviews - @TrevillianSusan - interview includes phone conversation when interview offered, how candidate interacts with admin staff on arrival, interview panel questions, and technician taking candidate for hospital tour.
Phung To from @AustinHealth sharing their problem solving In Medication Safety stream - what do you do if compatibility of preferred post-op analgesic and infusion fluid is unknown? Do a compatibility study. #MM2023SHPA
Community pharmacy staff often request hospital dispensing reports for safety net purposes. We want to avoid faxes. Many staff are not permitted to access MHR. Please don't ask us to send these to a @gmail account. What are the alternatives to support patients' continuum of care?
'No one wins when healthcare workers turn on each other.'
A wonderful article by Ranjana Srivastava @DocRanjana tells us why we shouldn't believe the hype - 'Doctors and pharmacists are not at each other's throats all over Australia.'

@PaulTWinner @ciarakirke @Dr_BellaR Thx. Our Muslim chaplain has been great - all about partnerships & ensuring patients make informed choices. 10% of patients reported medication events with fasting e.g. hypo with insulin, dehydration with diuretics. Tricky when patients refuse antibiotics, analgesia, asthma MDIs.
@Dr_BellaR Our patients asked that health professionals have a better understanding of the importance of Ramadan to their community and that they partner with their patients rather than simply tell them not to fast. https://t.co/TaFYwm0AE2 & https://t.co/fN3c7h60B4
@ED_theEDpharm When we audited the reasons for patients refusing doses prescribed in hospital, we unexpectedly found fasting for Ramadan was a reason. When we interviewed our Muslim patients, they asked that we partner with them to come up with a plan and not simply tell them not to fast.
Thanks also, to the fabulous year 8 students at @EPICeduAU for your video to introduce @Austin_Health staff to how important the traditions of Ramadan are to your community. @Austin_HealthRx
#RamadanMubarak2023 to our Muslim community! If you're fasting and taking medicines, or a doctor/nurse/pharmacist, start a conversation about how to best manage medicines during Ramadan. Our patients asked to be partners in their care...
