Having routines in your classroom is an ESSENTIAL part of math because routines give structure, expectations, organization/management, and promotes productive relationships. Read more with this link! #edu3610css#MathRoutines#ClassroomRoutines
A well designed math center in the elementary classroom has a variation of activities, such as: manipulatives, worksheets, online games, etc. ALL while encouraging math talk between your students. #edu3610css
My CT has a center in her classroom that allows the students to CHOOSE what they would like to work on within that unit (what they’ve already learned or preview what the next lesson is going to be). This approach has been VERY effective in the classroom. #TheyLoveMath

This is a great blog about how to enhance math learning. My personal favorites are personalize and offer choices (such as an additional center for free option) and encouraging math talk in your classroom. #edu3610css
I cannot agree more! It is important to start our students off early with an understanding in math because it DOES show a substantial close in the equity gap. #edu3610css#equity#mathematics
Students who start kindergarten with a high level of math understanding also do better in reading? Dr. Fuson explains how early learning in math can help close the equity gap. https://t.co/edvCtqma1P

Equity in teaching mathematics involves noticing students, and learning about the worlds they live in. It also requires reflection that considers how you identify yourself and how others identify you and your pedagogy and classroom norms.
Students in any classroom differ in many ways- some cognitive and some preferences. According to The National Council of Mathematics, it is a teachers mission to promote, articulate, and support the best possible teaching & learning math. #MathIsFun#edu3610css#Differentiation

After reading this blog about math differentiation strategies, I realized that my current CT does a lot of this. Differentiation is important to ensure your meeting the needs of all students. My favorite is the hands on activities! #edu3610css

A great way to use digital images in the classroom is by using visual storytelling. Teachers can encourage students to create narratives for particular pictures. This is a great way to stimulate student imagination! #6430CSS
