From your staff, someone's saying there are technical issues, someone's saying there are passengers yet to board... Even state government buses have much better coordination.

@chiragbarjatya Helmet violations are taken quite seriously in Bangalore. Potentially hefty fines and proactive traffic police have really helped in ensuring this rule stays intact. In Pune, I've been gawked at for wearing a pillion helmet - kyunki saamne waale usually nahi pehente.

-Can't hear horn
-Low speeds
-Heavy on head
-I'm not a chain snatcher
-I'm not a coward
-First repair the roads

@KamathGurudutt I got into a two-wheeler accident at 5 kmph in jam-packed traffic. I was thrown off my bike and injured myself. Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet, and hence, was safe.

I would rather pay helmet makers and traffic cops to ensure my safety.

I've been called an idiot by a few for riding with a helmet (incl. pillion now), following signals, not driving on the wrong side, overtaking from the right, using indicators, stopping for pedestrians, and much more. All in Pune, nowhere else.

I'll always be a proud idiot.

Pune is a nightmare for law abiding commuters who are a minority. Violators commit every traffic offence known to mankind & that too with utmost shameless impunity ness while traffic police are as good as non-existent.

@nachiket1982 Five years back in Pashan, I told a wrong-side biker blocking my way to go on the correct side. He replied with 'Nigh l****ya.' He, with other drivers was on the wrong lane across the divider.
Bad driving has always been glorified in Pune. Unfortunately, this will never cease.

Bangalore atleast has city buses, traffic policing, better drivers and many humble people who mind their own business. Drunk/underage driving is socially unacceptable. Public property is treated better by citizens.

@Kuma50531Kumar @ravihanda Bangalore has something called a city bus service and traffic rules. Even with worse roads, frequent buses and law-abiding citizens (well, most) still amaze me.

Pune, well... Let's not disgrace BMTC. Also, driving on ORR (of all roads lol) is better than anywhere in Pune.

Totally against the enforcement of mandatory helmet usage. It's the best way to keep moronic drivers in their place - Hell, after they (fortunately) die.

(Bad driving is typical Pune culture anyway. Be ready for people justifying brain-dead behaviour.)

In a bid to reduce the rising number of fatalities in road accidents involving two-wheeler riders, Pune authorities are set to enforce a mandatory helmet rule. Justice Abhay Sapre has emphasised the need for riders and pillion passengers to wear helmets that meet road safety standards. He has further suggested organising a Road Safety Week to raise awareness about traffic rules. Justice Sapre, Chairman of the Supreme Court-appointed Road Safety Committee, has directed all relevant authorities to strictly implement road safety regulations and devise a comprehensive policy to prevent the loss of innocent lives.

Remember travelling from Raidurgam to Jubilee Hills in a TSRTC Metro Express. Have had most locals reply to me in Hindi after hearing my pathetic Telugu in the past, but the conductor on this bus corrected my Telugu without any judgement. ☺
