Anderson may not be ‘worth’ £120m as a player but that’s largely irrelevant.
The real question is whether he’s worth that much to City, given the context of past failed transfers and the context of our squad as a whole.
I’d say the answer is yes, and I imagine City will pay up.
🚨🔵 As expected, Manchester City sent new bid for Elliot Anderson for £106m guaranteed fee plus £15m add-ons.
Nottingham Forest want £120m+ fixed to sell the midfielder as also aware of Man United interest.
#MCFC pushing to get in done + Sandro Tonali also on shortlist. 👀
Maresca my friend, if you choose Trafford over Donnarumma, I will back you til the end. It’s a clear benefit to the team, Donnarumma cannot do build up
🚨🏴 James Trafford is considered a better fit for Enzo Maresca’s style of play than Gianluigi Donnarumma.
That could change expectations surrounding his future this summer, with Maresca’s arrival potentially giving him a fresh chance to stay.

Just pay the money. We’ve had far too many failures securing a top midfielder over the last years. Bernardo, Kovacic, Reijnders, Rodri and even the Nico G uncertainty mean this is an absolute must. Get it done this week
🚨🔵 Manchester City are preparing a new official bid to be sent soon to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson.
#MCFC confident to get the deal done after leading the race for months, since March.
Man United still keen but City ahead & optimistic.
