The Marlins select Jacob Lombard-SS
Age: 18 B/T: R/R H/W: 6’3/195
Hit: 50 Power: 60 Run: 65 Arm: 50 Field: 55 Floor: 50 Ceiling: 70 Overall: 55
The brother of 2023 first round pick, George Lombard, Jacob Lombard brings exciting tools and excellent athleticism to the table. The right hander has a beautiful swing that produces great exit velocities. Scouts have said he struggles with fastballs up in the zone, and that he may need to change his swing path, however, with his projectable frame paired with his athleticism, a change with that aspect of his game shouldn’t impact too much of his play. Lombard has shown good power, and could develop to be a 25+ home run bat. On the field, Lombard brings a good glove, showing off great range and hands. Although his arm may be lacking, he should stick at shortstop the majority of his career.
Although his hit tool and arm strength has some questions, the upside Jacob Lombard has as a 5-tool player gives him the talent to be a top ten pick in the draft.

Interesting note: All this push for fans to come out to the stadium from https://t.co/eREyGssMVg folks really shows that the F.O. DOES understand that winning is what will bring fans back. Will they invest in the MLB team and buy at the deadline though? Remains to be seen.
I just realized in my entire life I have lost more physical games , movies and music due to scratched, lost and stolen discs than I lost digital ones. I mean I love physical games just as much as anyone else, but people are exaggerating with all these what-if scenarios.
This is so well said. 😂
Maybe Sony doesn't realize that:
1. Most of us have a backlog bigger than our life expectancy
2. The jump from PS5 to PS6 is going to feel a lot smaller than previous generations (law of diminishing returns at this point)
3. If they want us to stay engaged, maybe... I don't know... give us games? Good games that don't take 7+ years to make. And maybe bring back some of the creativity and variety that made the PS1–PS3 eras so special.
Sony needs us more than we need them.
They created so much value over the last 30 years that plenty of us have enough incredible games to play for decades. If the future is "$1,000+ digital-only console, fewer games, longer waits, and less ownership," that's not exactly a compelling value proposition.
GG, Sony. Thanks for the memories. 🤣
