I am disabled.

I am on disability.

My oldest son was infected with Strep AND Mycoplasma at school two weeks ago.

There is an outbreak of Mycoplasma at his school as there is globally.

As he is still recovering, my youngest is now positive for #COVID19 which he was infected with at school.

If it were up to school, my youngest would have been in class everyday.

He has had no fever.

This is EXACTLY why he is infected!

Because other kids with cough, runny nose, sneezing, headaches, sore bodies, and fatigue are being sent to school by irresponsible parents.

They aren’t testing.

They don’t have a fever, so they go to school infected and spread a novel disease that is decimating the health of our future.

Of our educators.

Of the families at home.

Of society!

My life is at risk.

Due to this and trying to protect their health, we have been using nasal spray for almost two months as prevention.

I drive them to school instead of taking the bus.

The spray only lasts for around half of the school day and they are two young to self administer.

This responsibility shouldn’t be on children.

It shouldn’t even be a factor.

We now use spray at home too.

We mask at home to try and prevent the rest of the family from being infected 😷

Despite whatever outcome lies ahead, my child is now less capable.

They have damage to their body that can’t be repaired.

Our schools systems are disabling our future.

I won’t stand for this and you shouldn’t either.

The Australian Federal Court has thrown out a class action brought by about 3,000 businesses against insurance companies over rejection of claims for "business interruption" due to COVID-19.

The result of previous individual cases have generally shown that pandemics do not qualify as "business interruption" under most policies unless they say they include infectious diseases.

Justice Michael Lee ruled that the 3,000 cases were not sufficiently similar to warrant class actions and that each policy holder would need to claim under their policy and take it to court if they are unhappy with the insurer's decision.

The moral of the story is that if you have business interruption insurance, see if it has an Infectious Disease Clause. It might also need to not require government orders as a trigger for coverage and define the covered area broadly enough to encompass community transmission (not just on your premises).
