We like to keep things classy here. But for real, i forgot the German frog guy's name with the awesome recipe. He uses extra virgin olive oil and baking soda as his base and it's like, the best DIY recipe ever, partially because of the memes.
(Bored posting)
@GermanicFren oh yeah, forgot to mention this is my recipe inspired by germanicfrens DIY project. I added beeswax and used a double boiler this time. Which is just a glass bowl on top of a pot full of water.
@GermanicFren
Ingredients (makes ~2โ3 oz / small jar or stick)Extra virgin olive oil: 3โ4 Tbsp (main base โ nourishing but can feel oily)
Beeswax: 0.4 oz (your full amount โ ~1โ1.5 Tbsp grated/pellets; this is key for solidification)
Baking soda (aluminum-free): 2โ3 Tbsp (odor control; start lower if sensitive skin)
Arrowroot powder or cornstarch (recommended add-in for better absorption/texture): 2โ3 Tbsp
Optional enhancements:5โ10 drops tea tree or lavender essential oil (antibacterial + scent)
1 tsp shea butter or coconut oil (if you have it โ softens texture; omit if strict EVOO only)
Pinch of vitamin E oil (preservative, optional)
Stove-Top Instructions (Double Boiler Method)Set up a double boiler: Place a heat-safe glass bowl or small pot over a saucepan with 1โ2 inches of simmering (not boiling) water. This prevents scorching.
Melt the solids: Add your 0.4 oz grated beeswax and 3โ4 Tbsp EVOO to the bowl. Stir occasionally over medium-low heat until fully melted and combined (5โ10 minutes). The mixture will be golden and liquid.
Remove from heat: Take the bowl off the heat.
Mix in powders: Whisk in 2 Tbsp baking soda + 2 Tbsp arrowroot (or cornstarch) until smooth and clump-free. It thickens as it cools. Add more powder (up to 1 Tbsp extra each) if you want a firmer paste. Stir in essential oils last.
Cool and set: Pour into a clean small jar, empty deodorant tube, or silicone mold. Let it cool at room temp for 10โ15 minutes, then refrigerate for 30โ60 minutes until it solidifies into a balm consistency. It will firm up nicely thanks to the beeswax.
Apply: Use a pea-sized amount. Rub in well โ it may feel slightly oily at first but absorbs.
Expected Texture & TipsSolidification: The beeswax + cooling process creates a semi-solid balm that holds shape better than plain oil + baking soda. It softens with body heat for easy application.
Performance: Baking soda handles odor; arrowroot absorbs moisture. EVOO is moisturizing but has a mild scent that may linger.
Sensitivity: Baking soda can irritate โ do a patch test. Reduce to 1โ2 Tbsp or use magnesium hydroxide as a gentler alternative if needed.
Shelf life: 3โ6 months in a cool place. Store in fridge in hot weather to prevent softening.
Adjustments: For a harder bar, use all 0.4 oz beeswax with slightly less oil next time. For softer, reduce beeswax slightly (but you said you have 0.4 oz available).
@OffRoadCampBoys You come with a disclaimer, its a weight off their chest. Now you dont have to worry about anyone interfering if you do happen to find a bear to boop, they will just leave you to your fate.

I get sad when women donโt think theyโre cute when theyโre pregnant. I have never seen an uncute pregnant woman. I assure you, you are all very cute. You are MOM. That makes you transcend all beauty standards immediately
