The #Bears stadium situation doesnt have to get political
Regardless of which way you vote
The fact is that if IL wanted to,
The Bears could pay $2 Billion
Property tax could be exempt
Infrastructure covered by sales revenue
Ask yourself what else is holding IL back then?
@RPP95 They havent left yet.
They are still negotiating with IL
There are not other options in IL because IL does not want the Bears to stop renting from Soldier Field. The City & State make more off of the Bears as long as the Bears dont own their own stadium.
Do you get it now?
@ForeverBearDown@ChicagoBears Bears are still talking to IL
IL can make the stadium tax exempt by making the stadium publicly owned while still giving Bears the revenue
They can have the infrastructure paid for by sales revenue
$0 tax payers dollars
$2 Billion from the Bears
Thats all IL needs to do
@BigDFurny47 IL can make the stadium tax exempt by making it a publicly owned stadium for public use
They can have the infrastructure paid for by sales revenue
$0 tax payer dollars towards this
$2 billion from the Bears
But Illinois is being greedy and wants more $$$
@BillHecht74 And yeah if you want to own an NFL stadium you can get that deal. Go look at the rest of the league and all the teams that are tax exempt from property taxes for a publicly owned stadium being used for public use.
@kialala@WUTangKids Be mad at IL politicians
Its not too late to let your voice be heard
Bears are still negotiating
Bears are paying $2 Billion of their own money
Illinois has the power to offer $0 property taxes
Infrastructure paid by sales revenue
$0 Tax payer dollars
@FlowsAndolini 28 of 32 NFL teams pay $0 in property taxes mostly by having a publicly owned stadium
If Illinois wanted to, they could do this
Illinois could also have infrastructure paid for by the sales revenue.
$2 Billion from Bears, $0 from tax payers
But some people want more money.
@BillHecht74@reesetheone1@ErikLambert1 Bears dont want anyone to pay for anything
Bears want to pay $2 Billion
Illinois could offer $0 property tax by making the stadium publicly owned
Have infrastructure paid for through sales revenue
Give the Bears the revenue share they want
Look up the other NFL stadiums
@reesetheone1 Ok what does this matter?
The reason IL & Chi have made things difficult for the Bears is because they want the Bears to continue renting from the city and to be able to keep making money off of the Bears. They dont want to give up that money and power. Thats what this is about
All this talk about Infrastructure costs and property tax, none of that has to come from tax payers and it shouldnt!
IL has the power to make all of this go away but again, they want the Bears to keep paying them rent & to keep making money off of the Bears!
Its easy to see
The #Bears stadium situation doesnt have to get political
Regardless of which way you vote
The fact is that if IL wanted to,
The Bears could pay $2 Billion
Property tax could be exempt
Infrastructure covered by sales revenue
Ask yourself what else is holding IL back then?
When the Bears say Hey we want build on the Chicago Lakefront, the city of Chicago says ok but you we need a cut
This is what the battle is about people.
Because a Lakefront stadium would need to be publicly owned in order to be tax exempt
I still want the #Bears to get a deal done in Illinois whether thats AH or CHI however im warming up to this location on Wolf Lake in Hammond, Indiana. It would be even better if they are going to purchase the Lost Marsh Golf Club. Plenty of space for stadium & ent district
@digging4dingers@ChicagoRob_40@pugsandco IL can create a way for the infrastructure to be paid for by revenue and money coming in from the stadium and entertainment district. But that means less money going into certain peoples pockets in Illinois.
