Deeply saddened by the passing of Former Deputy Mayor and Ward No. 98 Corporator Alkatai Kerkar following a brief illness. A 3rd-term corporator in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, she shared an exceptional rapport with the people of her constituency.

A retired teacher, she led a simple life, devoted to her party and upheld the highest standards of integrity, never allowing corruption or unauthorized practices to take root. Widely admired for her dedication and tireless service, she worked relentlessly for the welfare of citizens and set a benchmark for fellow corporators and political workers. Her unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of ordinary people makes her loss deeply felt in the Vandre West constituency.

For over three decades, we have dedicated ourselves to serving the people of Vandre West Assembly constituency and advancing the work of the BJP. Today, I have lost one of the most important pillars of that journey. Her passing is a profound loss and has plunged our entire Vandre West community into deep grief.

Heartfelt condolences to her family. Om Shanti

A historic Diwali gift for the nation!

The people-centric reform under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s visionary leadership and with dedicated efforts of Hon'ble FM Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji, GST has been forever simplified by abolishing 12% and 28% slabs, moving to just 5% & 18%. This monumental step lifts a heavy burden off citizens and businesses alike.

Most importantly, Health and Life Insurance have been kept out of GST, a massive relief for families, ensuring security and care without additional financial strain.

This Next Gen GST Reform is not just about taxation, it is a giant leap in Ease of Living, transparency and people-first governance. Truly a historic Diwali gift for the nation and a strong stride towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Your Blessings, My Strength! – A heartfelt Gurupurnima greetings to my constituency

With deep humility, I bow in gratitude to the people whose blessings and love have helped me get elected from the Vandre West Assembly constituency not once, but thrice. I have always regarded my voters as gurus – their unwavering support and guidance continue to inspire me every moment. It is with this deep sense of gratitude that, on the auspicious day of Gurupurnima, I am reaching out to citizens of my constituency with a symbolic flower and a heartfelt letter of thank you as part of the ‘Guruvandan’ initiative.

..............

Like every year, began this year’s free notebook distribution drive for underprivileged students, starting from the Gazdar Bandh area in Ward No. 99. Wishing all the students the very best for their academic journey ahead!

In a determined bid to make Vandre West and the entire H/West Ward (Bandra West, Khar West, Santacruz West) pothole-free, the administration has stepped up its efforts. While previously only 6 km of roads would get cement concretized in a season, this year we've completed 11 km, and additionally treated 47 new roads covering 23 km (either full/half in length or width). Out of 156 minor and major roads, 101 have already been addressed—either partially or fully.

I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and deeply appreciate the citizen’s patience, support and kindness in adjusting to these essential improvements. A special word of thanks for the creative expressions—be it criticisms, songs or reels—that powerfully reflect the public mood. We hear you. Your voice matters.

Please bear with us a little longer—for the larger good of a pothole-free Bandra.
