Indian stock exchanges are closed today for Mumbai's municipal elections.

The fact that our exchanges, which have international linkages, are shut down for a local municipal election shows poor planning and a serious lack of appreciation for second-order effects.

As Munger said: "Show me the incentive, and I will show you the outcome."
The holiday exists because no one who matters has any incentive to oppose the market holiday.

It also tells you how far we have to go before global investors take us seriously.

Read this while you enjoy the market holiday :)

What happened to Anjel Chakma and his brother Michael in Dehradun is a horrific hate crime.

Hate doesn’t appear overnight. For years now it is being fed daily - especially to our youth - through toxic content and irresponsible narratives. And it’s being normalised by the hate-spewing leadership of the ruling BJP.

India is built on respect and unity, not fear and abuse. We are a country of love and diversity. We must not become a dead society that looks away while fellow Indians are targeted. We must reflect and confront what we are allowing our country to become.

My thoughts are with the Chakma family and the people of Tripura and North East. We are proud to call you our fellow Indian brothers and sisters.

The trend of these frauds are increasing. The past 9 months alone have had scams worth 11000 crores! I dread to think what it will be like once the fraudsters use AI. 😔

One thing you can do to protect yourself is change the settings on your WhatsApp and Telegram so strangers can't add you to groups. Here's screenshots of the settings screen that show how to do it. 1/2

Dear @narendramodi @PMOIndia, @AmitShah @HMOIndia @rajnathsingh @SpokespersonMoD @NBirenSingh @manipur_cmo, look at the faces of these women and children; they are citizens of this country. Do whatever you must with all the resources under your command to ensure their safety and freedom from their armed "Kuki" abductors.

God forbid, if anything untoward happens to these innocent women and children, you shall be solely responsible.
