Mind you this woman, a victim of child sexual abuse by her father, spent her entire childhood/teenage years protecting Forrest from his (male) bullies and being his only friend and men have the audacity to call her a monster because she knew she was broken and thus stayed away from Forrest in their adult years to avoid hurting him, once again choosing to protect him as she had been doing her whole life. Jenny and Forrest’s love for each other was pure and men hate that. She wouldn’t allow herself to be with him until she was stable and he loved her unconditionally even when she was a total mess.
