Don’t judge yourself against what other people are doing -or appear to be doing. Don’t judge yourself against what you normally could do - and teachers I’m talking to you. Maybe don’t even judge. Nothing is normal. Just do the best you can in the circumstances you’re in.
@GovMurphy can you please help us make an MVC appointment? We have tried going there at 6 am and were told that there are no walk ins allowed. We cannot get an appointment ourselves and my son does not want to drive illegally. What should we do?

@wshuler731@TeachMrReed But you are doing everything online. We are not allowed to see anyone! We were encouraged to Zoom our colleagues at lunch for connection. And I still have to lug ALL my resources to and from school everyday in case there is a state shut down.
@cari_nation @TaraMellace@TeachMrReed I agree. I am connected to NO one. I come in wave to the security guard and go straight to my windowless room. I stay there ALL day and am not allowed to see colleagues. Oh I do go to the bathroom. That’s the only time I get up away from my screen. It is the loneliest place.
studies show that scrolling tends to increase depression and anxiety, but reading a novel for even seven minutes can lower stress by two-thirds. do your frazzled nerves a favour and read a book.
@TechNinjaTodd My daughter’s principal is teaching a freshman English class this year. My daughter absolutely loves it and feels so connected. I wish more admin would do this but they do have a lot on their plate.
@aderbenwick @CovingtonEDU @lportnoy Yes I agree 100%. You cannot put the little guys in front of a video and expect them to learn to read. But that is what we are doing!!
@flyingmonkey13 We are teaching remotely but teachers must come in. I’m uncomfortabke because many of our teachers do not take this pandemic seriously and go to happy hour. And I have to share a bathroom and lunch room with them??
I’m dumbfounded that some teachers teaching remotely are still required to teach from school when we know that humans do their best work when they feel safe and comfortable.
Man I worry about the mental health of people right now. I’m struggling myself and I’ve got great support. Some don’t have any. Reach out to people - lift them up before it’s too late. More than anything people need to feel connected and safe.
@MrsSpinasClass I was voluntold to translate the back to school plans. I got a big thank you! 😳 I don’t think my admin realizes how much time it takes. I think they think I slap it into google translate and boom!
