Then why don't Republicans try and figure out a bipartisan bill to pass to make sure this doesn't happen? Democrats have and the GOP won't even allow their own people to vote for it or against it.

As a Democrat myself, I don't know any other Democrats who see immigration as a vote for our party. I don't actually think normal Americans typically think this way.
