In order to achieve the realism I wanted for my Lego Counterspell, I built a scale “card” out of real Lego. I then photographed it to use as reference for the painting.

To achieve the glowing effect on this Doors of Durin Fabled Passage, I first painted the design in a faint blue, then painted over that, slightly thinner, in white.
