Anti-capitalism is such an insidious concept.

Capitalism is defined by its defenders and enemies alike as private ownership of the means of production (capital).

So what makes ownership private?

Well, if the government owns a school, we call it a public school. If anyone else owns a school, we call it a private school. It seems like private just means not the government.

So "private" = anyone except the government.

And "capitalism" = anyone except the government owning stuff.

Imagine if it were any other organization. Say it was my company.

"That's a failure of capitalism! This is why we can't trust private organizations with the means of production!"

Becomes:

"That's a failure of anyone-except-my-company-owning-stuff-ism! This is why we can't trust anyone-except-my-company organizations with the means of production!"

How would you react to someone who spoke that way in response to every problem in the world?
